Dating in Lockdown 101
Lockdown is sooooo not the time to be trying to find a significant other. You can't see anyone, you can't kiss anyone and you definitely can't shag anyone! But if you thought that meant dating is off the cards, you're mistaken.
Here's some great ideas you can do when you can't see each other!
(If you're in a long distance relationship these will also work a treat)
TAKEAWAY ROULETTE
Who doesn't love food right?! Get yourselves on Zoom and download any takeaway app. Exchange postcodes (please only do this with someone you trust) and order each other's dinner. You'll spend the whole time waiting for the food to arrive trying to guess what you've ordered each other - and you get a takeaway out of it. Perfect date night.
NETFLIX PARTY
Sometimes the best dates are the ones where you just stay in and curl up infront of a film - and there's no reason you can't do that from afar. Download the Teleparty extention onto your laptop and watch the same film as your date. There is a chat bar down the side so you can talk while you watch - or you could even open up Zoom on the side instead.
QUIZ NIGHT
This one is for the couples who have been dating for a while. Each of you will write a quiz about yourself, asking questions like "What did I study at Uni?" "What's my bra size?" "What was the name of my first pet?" Then on video call or phone call you can quiz each other. The person who gets the most right is clearly the best listener and gets to set a forefit for the other person. This one could be make or break!
WHO DOESN'T LOVE COCKTAILS?!
Cocktails are a classic date in normal times, so get on Zoom and make your own. Each of you will prepare three cocktails and send the other on a shopping trip for the ingredients. Take it in turns to teach each other how to make your choice cocktails and enjoy a night of drinks and laughs. If you want to be even more extra (FYI I totally did) then make a full menu for your date to show them what you'll be making that evening.
